Is Your DEERS Data Up-to-Date

Home addresses in the DEERS (Defense Eligibility Enrollment System) data bank are very important.  

Sponsors and beneficiaries often move and , for one reason or another, don't change their addresses.  If there is any change in your status, or the status of your beneficiaries, it is best to notify DEERS or go to an ID Card facility and have the personnel there pull up your file and check it for accuracy.  

Do not wait until you attempt to get health care, only to be refused because the medical provider checking the DEERS data bank finds you are incorrectly listed.  

Do not wait until a claim is rejected for the same reason.  

Further, if DEERS attempts to mail information to an incorrect address, you may not receive important updates.

DEERS information, to include address changes can be easily accomplished by -

1 - Visiting a military ID Card issuing facility or

2 - Emailing changes to addrinfo@osd.pentagon.mil or

3 - Mailing changes to DEERS Support Office, ATTN: COA, 400 Gigling Road, Seaside, CA 93955-6771.
