Distinguished Member of the Regiment (DMOR) and  Honorary Member of the Regiment (HMOR)

CSM Aplin wanted me to reinforce everyone's knowledge of the AMEDD Regimental Recognition Programs and the procedures for submitting nominees for the certificates. As I'm sure you all are aware, there are three categories provided for the recognition of individuals who have contributed to the Regiment. Briefly, the three categories are:

1. Distinguished Member of the Regiment (DMOR). This is normally reserved as a retirement award. It is designed to recognize truly outstanding soldiers with a long AMEDD career (Active, Reserve, National Guard, or retiree).

2. Honorary Member of the Regiment (HMOR). This is designed to recognize individuals who are not affiliated with the AMEDD Regiment but have made significant contributions to the AMEDD. The individual should have a history of long and close association with the AMEDD Regiment. Spouses of retirees awarded the DMOR may be considered for this recognition.

3. Friend of the Regiment (FOR). This is designed to recognize individuals, groups, or businesses which are not affiliated with the Regiment but have made contributions or performed a service for the Regiment.

Nominations consist of:
1. A cover letter with the nominee's name, rank, and corps. The nominator should provide his/her name, mailing address and phone number to assist the Regimental Office in case further information is required. Also state the date of presentation and the address where the certificate should be mailed if approved.

2. A justification limited to no more than 2 pages which discuses the nominee's contributions to the AMEDD. For the DMOR, the retirement award write-up in MS Word format is usually sufficient for the justification.

The nominations should be sent via e-mail to myself or Mr. Ronald Still to be processed and forwarded to the Executive Officer, OTSG for officers, civilians and individuals not affiliated with the AMEDD Regiment, or to the Command Sergeant Major of the Medical Command for enlisted soldiers.

If I can be of any further assistance, please call DSN 471-8455, or commercial (210) 221-8455.
